Taz

“My job is to destroy people with creativity and style, which actually doesn’t destroy but inspires them. That’s my job.” click here
Well Taz Arnold has certainly caused some talk over his choice in style during Paris Fashion Week. I think right now people are a bit unsettled, when it comes to T.I.$.A. Some of them think he's a nutcase, others believe it's all a gimmick just for the hype and a small contingency even believes that he is a homosexual. The way I see it is most of the people drawing conclusions about the man aren't qualified to do so for way too many reason's to type. However I understand why they are reacting this way so it doesn't come as a surprise to me. I know for a fact that if a Martian came to my front door I wouldn't know how to react. It's one thing to believe in Martians but it's another to actually see one. This is what people are experiencing, they aren't used to someone dressing like Taz so they aren't quite sure how to react to it.
Last summer I was fortunate enough to sit down and have a conversation with Taz; nothing too deep just a regular conversation between two gentlemen. From his disposition I gathered that he is a very relaxed person, (from what I hear California would do that to you). He isn't what you would call a outspoken person, despite the tone of some of his outfits, his mind power speaks louder than he actually does. At that time I was feeling alone in the world, I started to see things for what they really were and found out a lot of the things around me were just smoke and mirrors. With my new found level of consciousness (non drug induced) I felt superior to most people around me. However that day I was brought to a realization that brought me great satisfaction, I was not the only Jedi in the world. Thank you.

Flashback Vogue

Sessilee Lopez
Vogue Italia 2008
This picture of Sessilee makes my day every time I look at it. I love everything about this picture for the most part because of the era in women's fashion that she is portraying and largely due to the intensity in her eyes. This is very early hollywood and it is amazing, I can honestly never get tired of looking at this.  I think the emotion in her facial expression really sold this picture.
(Trust me I've been looking at it for weeks now.)

Vogue Italia 2009
Just one year later Ms. Lopez is back in the pages of Vogue and still looking just as intense as she was in her prior appearance. The inspiration for the look is a bit different in this issue but the fact that she looks amazing is the common denominator.
P.S. The shoes are sick; don't take them off.

More Japan Vogue

Lately I've been looking more into Japan Vogue, not that I never payed attention to it before but lately more than ever before. I think I'm going to look further into Japan GQ, then investigate Paris. I starting to realize that these other issues of Vogue, Mens Vogue and GQ have (slightly) more to offer than the US version. Is creativity and emotion  censored in US magazines? It seems to me that these foreign releases have so much more emotion in the pictures and dresses that I would usually consider non-functional are displayed so well that I am giving second thought to my theory.
So what is it that Japan, Tokyo, Paris and maybe even London have over the US? In my opinion I believe that we have gotten so relaxed due in large part to our belief that we are the best that these other countries are just outworking us because they have something to prove; with the exception of Paris of course.

I Like Girls, That Like Girls

Katy Perry covers the Complex Magazine

I’m not like Jennifer Lopez or Kim Kardashian, but it’s there. That hourglass is there in some ways. You can ask Travis. It’s probably the best. [Laughs.] I’m probably going to get into trouble for saying this, but he said he was never a boob guy, he was always a butt guy, until he met me. ’Cause my shit don’t sag.

Call Seize sur Vingt; Get This Man a Suit!

Christian Bale recently covered the June GQ magazine. He also recently played the role of John Conner, leader of the resistance in the new Terminator movie, so it makes complete sense to me why they went route for the cover. However the problem with doing theme covers is either you get it or you don't. Now since I saw the movie last night this makes a bit more sense to me than the average man that just subscribes to GQ and has no interest in the Terminator film. Do I think the cover could have been better? Sure but at the end of the day we all make bad decisions sometimes and in the case of the Gentlemen's Quarterly magazine they have been producing quality covers and content for some time now so one bad cover isn't much to fuss over.

Megan Fox on Esquire

First GQ magazine couldn't get enough of her, now she graces the cover of Esquire magazine; Megan Fox and 10 pages on "The Woman of Summer 09". After seeing Transformers I believe every man fell in love with Fox and if not then you might find the sequel a bit more convincing. I must admit, she is it.

If We Ever Met I'd...

Ashley Olsen looks so stunning in these shots for VMan magazine; she is almost completely unrecognizable. I had to study the photographs to really tell it was her. In the elevator shots it's a bit easier to make her out but in the bulk of the shots she takes on a totally different personality. She exudes confidence and sensuality but yet still offers us a sense of innocence in the picture above, a combination that has been mastered by the world renown super model, Chanel Iman. These shots could be the beginning of a new chapter in Ashley's life or we all could be reading too much into this and it was just intended to be a one time thing. Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure, these shots have registered as warning shots in everyones mind.

Zac Efron Covers GQ

“It was the worst possible thing you could do in high school. Kids who are in musical theater tend to be self-confident in a quirky kind of way, and when kids who are really self-conscious see somebody doing that kind of thing, they try to bring them down. I used to do random things, man. When I was a kid? I dyed my hair silver, to look like Sisqó in the ‘Thong Song’ video. I just didn’t give a f—. I didn’t care.”

The Essence of a First Lady

"It's an honor and a privilege when you walk into the White House-at least I automatically felt a level of obligation. This is a big responsibility, a wonderful platform and I just want to make sure I take every advantage to serve as a role model, to provide good messages, to be a supportive mate to the President and to make sure that my girls are solid." Japan Fashion Week

There was a point in time when Japanese fashion wasn't respected enough to earn them a fashion week, well I believe it is safe to say that time is long gone. Not only do they have their own fashion week but they are making good use of it to display just how different they really are. The look seen above is one of my favorite's from a collection that is anything but ordinary. The name of the line is Né-net, to see more from this collection click here

Everyone's Talking About It

What did Rolling Stones expect when they employed Terry Richardson to do a photo shoot with the Gossip Girls? Two things for sure one thing for certain, they got their monies worth, the shots look amazing and giving Terry such beautiful subjects to shoot is like turning a lion loose in midtown.

Mr. West Covers Complex

This is the best concept that I have seen so far that any magazine has drawn up for Mr. West. The old complex spread from last summer used to be the best but this one takes the cake.
Why do you think there’s such a fixation on your sexuality?

Kanye West:
I really think it’s because society tries to dictate the way a guy is supposed to dress and the way a guy is supposed to act, and I refuse to conform. A lot of these dudes would never be accused of being gay just because they all look exactly alike. If people could just realize the amount of mundaneness and followers that lack creativity… I think people’s mentality is like, Only gay people are that creative. And it’s true there are a lot of gay people who are incredible creative minds, but there are straight people who are incredible creative minds—and there’s gay people who can’t dress or create at all, too. Closed-minded gay people probably say they dress “straight.”

Nicole Richie Covers BlackBook Magazine

Richie looks incredible on the cover. The stylist took huge risk with these looks but for the most part it paid off. Most people that are talking are saying that it is borrowing from Lady GaGa's style (you be the judge) but at the end of the day if that is all that they can say then job well done.
It does speak in volumes when your fans say something like that on your behalf.

Kim & Reggie GQ Photo Shoot

This photo shoot came out good. I must admit I was a bit surprised when I first heard that GQ was going to do a shoot with them because on the relationship list their relationship is very under-rated. It's to the point where you know about it but you don't always remember and when your an A-Lister that is a good thing.

Sessilee Lopez Covers Latina Magazine

What makes Sessilee such a good model?

Versatility
In my personal opinion one of the attributes that Ms. Lopez possesses that makes her a good model is the fact that she looks great in any haircut. In some shows dating back to 2006 her hair was shorter, in between then and now it grew and she cut it again, for this photo shoot it's short but considering that caesars for women are prominent I can't say that it is really short. Regardless of what length, style or color her hair is she always looks good and that is a desirable trait in a model.
