Brooklyn Circus
When was the last time that you were under the big top? Well not the real circus anyway, I was referring to Brooklyn Circus. Brooklyn Circus is a very well put together boutique located on Bergen and Nevins. Where they sell some lines that you have most likely heard of by now like Nudie and J. Lindeburg along with some that you might not be as familiar with. They also have their own brand Brooklyn Circus under which they produce an array of t-shirts sporting the logo of and elephant and other designs. They get back to the circus theme with the re-occurring display of bright pronounced colors.
-see the display below.
-see the bags on the top shelf, over the shirts.
-prices on bags range from $250-$500
-the bags are a MUST HAVE!
-see sweater below.
-notice the neon colors on the black canvas
-notice the neon blue silk like interior in the hood; very smooth.
-see varsity below
-also available in all black with grey undertones.
-a cold winter MUST HAVE
-price range $200-$300
! Please Be Informed !
The entire fall collection of Brooklyn Circus items are on sale while supplies last and that usually isn't very long so you don't have time to waste.

The Future

What will your children wear? What do your children wear? If your a (good) parent then you take pride in your children and the way they look. You wouldn't buy Louis for yourself and Children's Place for your children. Now upon hearing this you might say: "What is SoHo talking about?" "Whats wrong with Children's Place?" and my response would be nothing at all. I never said that there was anything wrong with The Children's Place I was simply saying that when your a (good) parent you make sacrifices for your children. Now what kind of a sacrifice would that be if you wore LV and your children wore Children's Place? You walking into LV and spending $1200 on a bag and then go and spend $50 on your son/daughter. How does that even out?
-Location: 298 West 4th New York, NY. 10014
Here's what you can do, head on over to the Little Marc store and pick up a nice outfit for your son/daughter(s). Whether it is for an event where you need to dress your child properly or its just recess I think Little Marc is a great choice, so head on over to Little Marc and see what they have to offer.
Here is another alternative to Little Marc; Polo Ralph Lauren Children. Refer to Nicky for the Polo sweater inspiration. Similar to the Little Marc theory that kids are entitled to dress just as well as u do. They offer sweaters, shirts, polo's, pants, etc. basically everything that you need to help your child look as up to par as you are.

We Wont Stop!

Well there has been yet another Bathing Ape store opening, this time it's in LA. It would appear that Nigo has adopted Sean Combs 1999 modo for his Bad Boy record label; "We Wont Stop". This store is fresh and in my opinion way overdue for LA, they needed a Bape store around the same time that New York did. There was an all star guess list of course including N.E.R.D and Takashi Murakami. However there was one person in attendance that surprised me; Mike Tyson. Who knew he was still alive? One of the greatest boxers ever to fight was in attendance at the LA Bathing Ape store opening. Who knew that he even knew what Bape was?

-(left) Nigo (right) Takashi Murakami
I really like the design of the store and I think it will be a success simply because its a Bathing Ape store. Who doesn't like Bathing Ape? Let's just hope that the Aging Fakes in LA dont overpower the new store and that the citizens of LA do the right thing and purchase the authentic merchandise.

Time and Place!
I've posted this video because on the one hand its funny (not them but him) and at the same time its a serious example of the importance of knowing place and time. Society says that there is a time and place for everything and somethings just arent acceptable in certain situations. This was obviously one of those things, you can tell by the audience reaction.

If it isn't unleaded gas then it's ______.

Have you been paying attention to Diesel lately? I have and I must say I'm impressed with what I've been seeing from them as far as the bags that they have been producing lately. My second favorite would be a bag that they make called "Harook" for $250 and my overall favorite is called "Bromo" for $1,200. They have a big selection of different kinds of bags all very well crafted and designed. I really appreciate this new line of bags from Diesel but dont take my word for it, go to Diesel and see for yourself. You'd be doing yourself a disservice not to do so.
Side Note
-I wont lie to you hand bags arent for every man so if you dont think that you'd be able to pull one off dont force it.
-If you can pull off a hand bag and you do buy one, be cautious, they are addictive.

"Air Ye" Update

Ladies and gentlemen I present to you all, The sneaker that you've all been waiting on: "The Air Yeezy". This is the newest seen color-way of the sneaker which appears to be mostly black with a red base and glow in the dark trim and Nike trademark check. I really like these sneakers and upon their release I will be purchasing these. So basically I'm either going to have to purchase them a month in advance or wait on a three block line just to engage in a physical confrontation when I finally get inside for the last size 9 but hey; its worth it right? Of course it is.

Finally!

Every rapper ran to reebok and got a deal with them to have a sneaker line, every rapper except for Kanye West. Maybe its because he was a producer first and he still thinks like a producer but for whatever reason he has a contract with Nike to make his own line of sneakers. Mr. West wasn't at liberty to discuss these matters before but this picture has just surfaced on his own blog so I'm assuming that its alright, hence this post. I really like them and I will be purchasing a pair just not this color-way. The back bubble appears to be inspired from the jordan 3, 4 and 5's. The huge tongue and mid section strap are obviously inspired by the Ato Matsumoto's Cow Hide Boot. Overall I think its a good design and should be a hot item on the market I mean after all its Kanye West's sneaker; who wouldn't want one?

And we will start the bidding at...

If there was a bidding for you to have these Rick Owen sneakers in your life how much would you be willing to pay? How far would you push your competition before even they realize that it has reached an outrageous price? Well would it be safe to say that $1075 is an outrageous price? I sure as hell think so, I mean they are a great pair of sneakers to own but you get to a point where your just like come on $1000. The sneakers are very chicly designed to follow the contour of the foot and I'm sure their comfortable judging from the fact that they look cushiony inside. You can pick these up at eLuxury, however these sneakers will be super rare on the streets or should I say on the feet of people on the street unless there is a sale or unless everybody spends their stimulus package money on them.

These shoes are remarkable; seriously! If a woman walked by in this I would definitely talk to her i.e. these shoes are a conversation starter. Forget that they are the topic of every conversation in a 5 block radius. Oh yea and there $750.00 but worth every penny. These shoes were beautifully crafted by the good people at Christian Dior and are available at eLuxury right now. Ladies if you were looking to make a statement this summer, forget the mini skirts, this is the way to go.

Feeling Militant: Finalized
Topic: M65
Object: compare and contrast
Soldier: SoHo B
This is the Marc by Marc Jacobs M65 military jacket. There are four exterior pockets, no inside pockets, sholder straps, adjustable wrist width and length, also pull strings at the bottom of the jacket for a closer fit if desired. Comes equip with a hood concealed in the neck of the jacket by a zipper and a velcro neck strap. However there aren't any patches like the ones on the BBC jacket as a matter of fact there aren't any patches at all. I guess Jacobs was going on the idea that you have to earn your stripes.
The back is pretty simple, nothing about it really draws your attention or captivates you. Unlike the BBC jacket there is no pleat therefor be cautious when tightening the bottom of this jacket, you may find forward motion a little more challenging than normal. In the picture above the jacket front is open but you can still see the contour of the body in the back of the jacket meaning that when this jacket is closed and the neck strap is hooked, pleat or no pleat; lookout!

Feeling Militant continued
Current topic of discussion: M65 military jacket
Objective: Enlighten the people about a couple options that they have for a military jacket
Soldier: CoOlness P
This is the BBC version to the M65 military jacket. Notice the space between the two top pockets and the two bottom pockets, the space is for a removable waist belt.
Notice the patches on the arms and chest, they are official BBC militia patches. The jacket is rather slim and fitted nicely possibly the best I've seen for a M65 remake.
Notice the pleat at the back of the jacket, enabling it to move more, so while you navigate the crowds on your daily commute the light weight BBC M65 jacket will make every dip and dodge with you rather than fight against your movements like most M65 jackets.

Ato Matsumoto
I was just wondering if the name Ato Matsumoto means anything to you. For the more informed reader it means alot but for those of you who still have no clue what I'm talking about allow me to make a proper introduction.
This was Kanye West's outfit to Hot 97's 2007 "Summer Jam" concert, pay close attention to the sneakers; they are Ato Matsumoto's "Cow Hide Boot". The boot's come in three different colors to my current knowledge: Red, White and Black.
Here is a closer look at the Matsumoto's; beautiful aren't they? Do you want to own a pair? Of course you do; who wouldn't? However they aren't being released in the U.S. until January 2009 so if you want a pair now there is only one way to do so, follow this link: ATO.
The site currently only has U.S. size 10 however last month they had size 9, I'm not sure how there inventory works but I'm pretty sure they have way more than just one size.

Urgent News! This Just In!
Good night L&F. Yes, Im fully aware of the time but this couldn't wait. So I was on the phone with she who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons and we were talking about the McFly's; what a coincidence. So anyway she tells me that her friend has a pair, of course you know that my next question was what size does he wear because I would have requested a sit down with him so I could start the bidding. He wears a 10.5 way to big shoes too fill for my 9 size feet. My next question was where did he get them and her response was... The Nike Headquarters. If you don't wish to get into a physical altercation with me don't question my source it is a very reliable source that I trust. More on the evidence to the existence of the McFly's later.

Bring Em Out! Bring Em Out!
Remember the "Back to the Future" movies? It's quite alright if you don't maybe you just weren't into them as much as the rest of the world was. However if you do remember the movies then in your mind right now there are only two things that this post could be about. I'll give you a hint: It's not the Delorean (yet)...
Thats right, we are gathered here today to discuss the sneakers that Michael J. Fox who played Marty McFly wore in "Back to the Future 2". Now it has come to my attention that Nike is going to release them however at the same time I feel like there is no truth to that as of yet. Here is my reasoning: The entire web has so many different stories about the sneakers. One of which is that Kanye West has made a deal to be the only ones to own a pair. The second is that Nike has purchased the rights to the patent, which doesn't make any sense because in the picture you can clearly see that they are Nike's,
Nike would have had to own the rights to the design already for them to even put Nike's name on them in the movie. My final reason for believing that Nike has no intention of releasing them is that there is a online petition being signed by sneaker lovers all over the world and the petiton's sole purpose (no pun intended) is to get Nike to release the sneakers. Maybe after the heads at Nike see how many people have signed the petition so far they will change their minds and actually release these sneakers.
here is where you can go to sign the petition: McFly

Murakami pt. 5
Well thats as much as I can show you of the exhibit but hopefully you can go for yourself and check it out. The pictures were inspiring but they were so much more than they seemed. He does a lot of eyes and mushrooms but they have a significant meaning behind them. There are little notes on the wall next to each picture, clarifying what's going on in the painting and explaining the meaning behind it. I don't want to give it away yet for those of you in the metropolitan area that can visit the museum that just haven't visited the exhibit yet. I will speak more about this topic in a later post for those of you who are out of state or outside of the country.

Murakami?
Well its a well known fact that Marc Jacobs is the creative director for Louis Vuitton however what isn't so well known is that just like "Santa" Jacobs had a little helper in the process of revamping LV. The colorful LV monogram on a canvas was a brilliant design and one of my personal favorites from LV. The design actually came from a Japanese artist by the name of Takashi Murakami. It was right around the same time as 9/11 when Jacobs met Murakami and fell in love with his work. The heads at LVMH decided to go with it and the rest is big revenue history. The Takashi Murakami exhibit in the
Brooklyn Museum opened on 4/3/08 and will be running until sometime in July I believe so you have time to go and check it out. In the mean time you can also check out the 3 part video to the exhibit shot by yours truely (that means its terrible; lol)
F.Y.I. Murakami is also responsible for the album artwork on Kanye West's latest album "Graduation" and the unreleased video for "Good Morning" by Kanye West which was featured on L&F back in Feb.

Every Barbie should own...

...

...
I know that your waiting to here what I have to say about this but you read the title and you see the pictures, what more do you want me to say? Go to Betsey Johnson. NOW!
Dress for the occasion.
Well NY if you haven't noticed we are in a very rainy month, I mean its really coming down out here. Those of you readers not in a rainy region right now, lucky you, I have something for you but first let me handle the fashionable solution to the rain. Well those soft sheepskin, classic UGG boots that you've been wearing all winter will not do you any good when the inches of precipitation aren't frozen so I present to you...
The Marc by Marc Jacobs rain boot. Great for women and adventurous men, now I say adventurous men because not every man will be able to pull this off. These boots are light weight, comfortable and extremely protective. They sit slightly under your knee and have an adjustable strap at the top where it is precisely labeled "Marc Jacobs" so you can adjust the boot to fit your calf. This is a good investment if you reside in New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, West Virginia, Florida or any other state this is currently being affected by the heavy rains.
Now if you aren't being hit hard with rain and wind and you see nothing but blue skies and you want to do your part to help the current state of the economy (spend some money) then here is what I suggest you target... a Spring Jacket! Go to the Marc Jacobs website via the link to the right, look under the Marc by Marc Jacobs line go to ready to wear and pick your gender. The jackets are more towards the end of the display. To locate a store near you go to the company option in the top bar, if there aren't any stores in your area don't fret you can always shop online. Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs products are sold on eluxury.

The Award Tour!

Ladies and gentlemen everything that you've read about the fashion show has been carefully planned to prepare you for this moment; the introduction to the Award Tour! Some of you may already be familiar with the line and the people involved with the line but for those of you who aren't get comfortable in your seats because L&F is a train, I am your conductor and the next stop is Award Tour ave.

The Award Tour Sweater. This is the epitome of leisure and according to Award Tours own "Juice" warmth. This particular item can be worn to fit or can be worn oversized but be careful when over sizing you dance closely with looking silly. The sweater is designed true to size so if your a medium person; get the medium.

The Award Tour Hoody is in my opinion the most wearable in the whole collection. I say this because you can put it together with anything. It can be worn as an outer piece by itself, you can wear it under a blazer, you can wear it small and show a graphic tee underneath, or it can be worn big.

Clothes with a message has been a reoccurring theme in this show but this time its slightly different. These messages are more than just that, there actually quotes from A Tribe Called Quest. I'm not sure if they all are but all of the ones that I've seen are. I think the fact that the message is taken from somewhere else gives it so much more meaning and it enables the clothes to reach so many other people that otherwise might not have been affected. Overall I think the line is well put together and extremely wearable and when you add the hats which are easily spotted you leave me no choice but to give this line 5 stars and deem it the most likely to survive in the industry.
Thank You

YSL is deadly but these guys are LETHAL!

The name of the line is Lethal Inspiration and when I seen the Coolness P walk out in their cardigan I seen why they go by the name "Lethal"; I almost dropped the camera. Oh yea I probably forgot to mention that L&F's own Coolness P walked in this show for all of the lines. He is shown below in the L.I. cardigan which I will be purchasing soon as I can get a hold of the owners of the line. I think this line is right up my alley, they won me over with the cardigan but they really got my attention with their attention to detail on presentation of the green L.I. shirt shown above. When this model walked out I arose from my seat one part impressed and three parts shocked. Encore for Lethal Inspiration. Look out world their coming.
Enjoy
