If We Ever Met I'd...

Ashley Olsen looks so stunning in these shots for VMan magazine; she is almost completely unrecognizable. I had to study the photographs to really tell it was her. In the elevator shots it's a bit easier to make her out but in the bulk of the shots she takes on a totally different personality. She exudes confidence and sensuality but yet still offers us a sense of innocence in the picture above, a combination that has been mastered by the world renown super model, Chanel Iman. These shots could be the beginning of a new chapter in Ashley's life or we all could be reading too much into this and it was just intended to be a one time thing. Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure, these shots have registered as warning shots in everyones mind.

Dear Summer,

If you are looking to make a splash this coming summer but you are tired of the looks that are already in your closet, I don't think you should do something as extreme as throw everything away and start fresh. I would suggest you go through your entire collection and pick out timeless pieces that you absolutely cannot live without and put the questionable pieces to the side. Then slowly rework those questionable pieces back in. If you can't see how an article of clothing will benefit you then lose it, don't feel forced to wear something just because you purchased it; everything has an expiration date.

When looking to the summer there should always be a theme in your closet, otherwise your looks will be random and scattered. There is usually one good item that you purchase that you like so much you want to work everything that you already own around it just so you can wear it more often. Getting dressed should be fun, if you ever go to your closet and feel sad or discontent then there is definitely something wrong. In most cases it is just that you are tired of looking at the same clothes. That feeling transpires onto you when you wear the clothes and it shows. I suggest you add a little spice to your closet, try something that you have never done before, while your at it try a new hair style and some new shoes as well.

The Talented 10(yr old)

Alex Midler is the name and he is only ten years old. Amazingly at ten years of age he skates better than most 20 year olds. There is no doubt in my mind that he has the potential to go pro, if he keeps it up at this rate he can go pro in two to three years but the real question is will that be what he wants when he gets there. He might just stay a really good street skater. He already has sponsorships such as: Etnies, Volcom, and Almost behind him, the only thing left to ask is: do you see what they see?

Bape Goldmine 09

If you aren't a Bape head then you are looking at these like didn't they do this already? Technically you would be correct but the design was different there for making it a totally different trainer. The silver and gold colorway was previously released for the Bapesta 88 design and is now being released on the classic Bapesta design.
I'm a fan. Check with your local Bathing Ape store for official release dates or estimations of the release date as websites have been known to be unreliable sources.

Pocket It

A pocket scarf is a nice way to spice up any outfit. There are many different ways that you can wear a pocket scarf depending on the length of the scarf. The most common way is to simply place it in the breast pocket of a blazer or vest (if applicable) with only an inch of the scarf being revealed. However as you become more comfortable with wearing scarves you can reveal more and more of the scarf.

Another option for wearing the pocket scarf is tied around the neck, but this only works if the scarf is long enough and if it looks natural. The style is a very French inspired style and it is meant to be tied loose as if you just threw it around your neck and tied it so it wouldn't move, but not so loose that it will move. When done correct it can be a very effective addition to an outfit.

The material of the pocket scarf is also something to be considered because silk scarves are more likely to slip and move, to start out I'd advise you use a cotton scarf. It will give you the stability and consistency that you will need to really get your feet wet.

Stylish in Williamsburg

While in Williamsburg this weekend I came across this beautiful young lady with so much style and I just had to share her with you. I saw her and immediately fell in love with everything that she had to offer, from the scarf to the bag she was on point and she completely comfortable; simple sign that this is her style.
Would you believe me if I told you that she is a librarian?

Dr. Simons Sandals

Raf Simons x Dr. Martens
Summer 09
2008 was undoubtedly a good year for Dr. Martens, the boots were a hit last winter especially amongst women with the release of the hot pink color. This summer Dr. Martens has teamed up with Raf Simons to provide something brand new for their consumers; sandals. This design is Simon's style so it should be well received by his current fan base. The design stuck with the original form of a Dr. Marten boot but will those consumers be willing to go toes out this summer? One good outcome that most likely shall occur is they are going to reach a new market together that they were unable to reach independently. I already have my assumptions on how this product is going to do in the market but the consumers have the final word so for now all we can do is speculate; time will tell the rest.

You can't be too upset about the new kids on the block so to speak because it can't die when you stop. For instance if I stopped today, there would be 20 new bloggers to take my place and out of that 20, 10 may be almost as interesting, 5 may be just as interesting and 1 may be very special.

Still Dancing With The Stars

I don't think that they should have been eliminated either but I am not one to sit and complain over something that has occurred already. I think Kim put it in perfect perspective when she said there is always a bigger plan. We might want them to win on Dancing with the Stars but they might be lined up to start their own dancing show; who knows?

There are only a handful of guys cooler than Regis and it's only by a small margin.

Words From The Showstopper:

SoHo B: What/ who influences your sense of style, as far as the way you dress?

Curt@!n$: Homeless people. I’ve seen some real stylish homeless people, I mean they’re doing it for survival and warmth, but I find beauty in some of the choices they make as far as dressing. I dont know if that was the politically correct thing to say, but i’m no politician so fuck it. Other than that I only admire, never emulate. Its a few cats that aren’t known to the public who are pretty dangerous as far as style, my man Bailey from Flight Club L.A, Jean Marc from Bape LA, the whole A.S.A.P Crew in NY and my man Reggie Know from Chicago. Those dudes need to be in the public eye, they can really school cats on the fashion tip. Taz Arnold might be the illest by far tho.

Causing Quite a Stir

Matthew Williamson's H&M collection has caused quite a stir in the industry, people have been anticipating it since they news of the collection first leaked and crossing off days until the day of the release; now a commercial has surfaced. The commercial draws an obvious influence from the Transformers movie in the way it uses a collage of different people and voices to convey a message, then the dead give away was Williamson's arrival, which was similar to that of the Autobots arriving on Earth in the movie. All in all the commercial is creative and imaginative, I don't doubt that a lot of work went into the creation of the commercial and I just want to say that I appreciate it.

Dancing With The Stars: Kim Gets Kicked

We are all sad to see her go but every week she surprised us with how good she was doing. No one really knew what to expect from Kim the dancing star but she soon proved herself to the world. I would like to say that she had a good run and this has done wonders for her public image especially since she just came out of a correctional facility. It has also extended her fan base, all of the people that liked her on Dancing with the Stars are now more likely than none to purchase her album.

The Gentleman's Box

This is a box. Not just any box but what I would like to call the gentleman's box. As a gentleman that takes so much pride in the way that he carries himself (on most days) there has to be some order by which you store your accessories.
What you are looking at is the top level of the inside of the box. The top level of my box consist of a watch, some time pieces, shades and glasses. The second level consist of a few more watches, a Dee & Ricky heart pendant, cuff links, cologne, another pair of shades and ear rings that I no longer wear.
I also have a box for my scarves and neck accouterments but that is a totally different post in itself. I am actually looking for a bigger box to move everything into; I might invest in a nice trunk. The whole point of a gentleman's box is to establish order amongst your belongings.
Try It.
