Kaws newest exhibition entitled Saturated opened this weekend in Miami at Gallerie Emmanuelle Perrotin. This exhibition features the Sponge Bob Square Pants and the Smurfs. In case you didn't know Kaws is an artist that was originally born in Jersey City, NJ. Who later moved to New York and now resides and works out of Brooklyn NY. He started out as a graffiti artist but his work soon became very sought after and he branched out into figurines, 4ft Kaws companions, clothing (Original Fake) and even joint ventures with other companies for figurines, sneakers and accessories. When you see his work you can understand why he is so sought after. He once said that he creates work that can be universally understood, I haven't seen one thing that he has created that would lead me to believe otherwise.
This Sponge Bob painting is one of my favorites.
