One of the most amazing shows that I have seen in a long time has to be the Theophilus London mixtape release party at the Studio at Webster Hall. As if the name Theophilus wasn't a good enough indicator this man commands an energy that is otherworldly and it sweeps over the crowd while he performs. It is life changing to see a show because you leave wanting more. The new songs on the mixtape and forthcoming album are a beautiful blend between classic rhythm and blues, pop and hip hop. The word to describe this artist hasn't been inducted into the dictionary as of yet so therefor the closest that i can get to explaining to you how amazing it is to witness this show live is to say that it is otherworldly. To listen to the mixtape in the privacy of your own home is good but it is not enough, you'll find yourself en route to work, school, date, etc. just flipping through your ipod until you get to Theophilus London because it is almost as though his music creates a demand in your mind for more of the music and ultimately you build up a dependency for this premium unleaded music. In the show he went through songs from the new mixtape, he did songs that will not be on the mixtape, he did classic songs from the first mixtape and he even did somethings on the spot but to get the entire experience you would have to be there so make sure that you do not miss the show with Mickey Facts, Theophilus London and Curtains on January 21st at S.O.B's.
