Happy Birthday Jeremy
Last night Hiro Ballroom was the place to be. In celebration of Jeremy Asgari's birthday an all star cast of New Yorkers flocked to 9th avenue between 16th and 17th street. The night started off as regular as your going to get at a NY club, guys trying to pay off bouncers, women charming their way in and one woman outraged by the fact that she had to pay a cover charge. As the night progressed and people started to get a bit more comfortable the mood changed a bit and people were really ready to party. Questlove from the roots rocked out his set and really got things underway. There were dancers swinging from the ceiling, bottle service faster than chinese food deliveries, beautiful women everywhere your eyes could fall and good music only equals one thing; a damn good party.

Too Legit to Quit
Imagine this:
Someone has something so real to share with the world but they do not have an outlet. They feel so passionate about their work that they just have to get it out there so they risk a citation and possible jail time to express themselves on a larger scale and share their thoughts with the world; looking over their shoulder the whole time.
Graffiti is a legitimate art form.
How dare you not appreciate it after all the artist risk to get it to you?

Flashback Vogue
Sessilee Lopez
Vogue Italia 2008
This picture of Sessilee makes my day every time I look at it. I love everything about this picture for the most part because of the era in women's fashion that she is portraying and largely due to the intensity in her eyes. This is very early hollywood and it is amazing, I can honestly never get tired of looking at this. I think the emotion in her facial expression really sold this picture.
(Trust me I've been looking at it for weeks now.)
Vogue Italia 2009
Just one year later Ms. Lopez is back in the pages of Vogue and still looking just as intense as she was in her prior appearance. The inspiration for the look is a bit different in this issue but the fact that she looks amazing is the common denominator.
P.S. The shoes are sick; don't take them off.

Get Wet
Recently there have been a lot of gloomy days in New York, involving heavy rains and storm clouds hiding the sun for a good portion of the day; almost everyday. Most people have resorted to staying in but for those of us whom don't see that as a legitimate option, might I make a slight suggestion. How about you cuff that pant leg up another inch, throw on a pair of boat shoes and go on about your business. The best part of your day should actually be getting wet.
Depending on what your wearing and the extremity of the weather conditions you might want to grab an umbrella on your way out. Unless you want it to break in the wind I suggest you make it a good one.

I Get Up Everyday
If you have a dream make it happen.
We live in the age of technology, there is no reason why anyone should be able to say I want to do something but I do not know how.
Everything is at your fingertips.
I know a woman in Germany, two in Paris, three in LA and I've lost count down South and I have never met any of them face to face.
The people that started Myspace and the people that started Facebook were just some guys that used the resources that they had before them and filled a gap. Find your niche, fill in the gaps and make it happen but first;
GET UP!

Cool Day, Good Blokes
Yesterday while in the city I got a BBM from the good Dr. Phil saying that he was in SoHo with some friends; coincidentally so was I. Upon meeting Phil in the new J. Crew Mens Shop he introduced me to the two gentlemen you see above. These two apparently jolly fellows are from the UK; London to be exact. Unfortunately at the time that was all I knew about them, so we spent a couple hours in the city talking about anything that came to mind and at the end of it all I can honestly say that these two are cool in my book. It wasn't until I actually got home and did some research that I realized how cool they actually are. They maintain a UK site called Tropical TV which is a very good site that covers much of what everyone wants to read with their own little twist on it. Try to imagine an English Phil and you'd better understand. All in all they have my seal of approval and I will be regularly visiting their site and I suggest you do the same.

The Toppers
In 1840 the top hat saw the height of it's popularity but as we all know great ideas in fashion don't die they just get recycled. I was first intrigued by the top hat while watching "Gangs of New York" a movie based upon New York during the 19th Century.
Most of the characters who was anyone in the town in that movie had on a top hat and they weren't afraid to throw it down and tussle if need be. Watching that movie made me look at mens fashion in a new light, I think the examples we see of men's fashion now are too soft. It's not that men are the new women but the ads for certain lines and the looks from certain collections aren't masculine enough. What the top hat represents to me is a time in America when men were men.
Let's take the top hat's back from the circus ring leaders, clowns and upscale doormen.

Heard Em' Say... SoHo
Don't Over Think It
Walking through SoHo yesterday I saw a lot of matching couples and by that I mean they were wearing the same colors. At first I thought it was nice that they took the effort to wear the same colors but after a while it got annoying, so imagine how happy I was when I saw this couple break from the norm of the day.
Her dress was a rather playful dress being kept in control by a big brown leather belt which went perfectly with her brown leather bag and her hair color; the boots quietly worked their way into the outfit.
His white tee shirt and blue pants caught my attention more because of the article that they were accenting; the OG MJ 4's. His look was really simple and effective, so many times people over-think an outfit and they end up wearing too many clothes but this was very well executed.

Gucci!
Gucci 2009
Fall/ Winter Collection
"look at this pea coat, tell me he's broke!" Kanye West
Since everyone (yes, literally everyone) started wearing Gucci I stopped paying attention to Gucci. I'm not a fan of clothing lines that are worn so much that they have become over-saturated and represented by the public in a terrible way seeing as the majority of people wearing Gucci now can't dress. However I recently came across these recent Gucci looks and much the contrary of how I see the general public representing Gucci, the brand still looks very well put together. I am a fan of quality clothing as much as I am a fan of life and this my friends is quality clothing. These very subtle pieces are what I look forward to seeing people wearing in the season to come. It's very easy to purchase a strong flashy article of clothing and make the rest of your outfit uncomfortably revolve around that one piece but to build an outfit having each individual article of clothing accenting another, working together to complete a look is a skill, one that Gucci hasn't lost yet. By far my favorite piece has to be the cardigan seen below; very cool.

Hot Pursuit
Agent Q from Jason Burke on Vimeo.
Agent Q was last seen heading towards Philadelphia on a CRB. An operative was in pursuit of him but his trail has gone cold, reports say he lost him at about the Jersey Turnpike but they do know that he has a lodging somewhere in North Philadelphia. If you are reading this Agent Q know that they are coming for you, you must not let them steal your style; we're all counting on you.

Your Bright
The Top Jacket
Whether you are paying attention or not this jacket is going to catch your eye. I found it hard to concentrate on anything else when Natasha (seen above) was in the area. The jacket is part of the Kate Moss collection at Top Shop. It is a stunning piece in the right atmosphere and the night life is definitely the right atmosphere for this jacket. However you have to actually have to have a personality to go with the jacket because people are either going to be looking at you all night or talking to you all night and the conversation starter is always going to be the jacket so be prepared for that. You can either be a bubbly person and embrace the attention or you can be that unapproachable woman that dances with her girls the whole night and turns down offer after foolish offer.

Claudia Schiffer
Italian Vogue
Shot by: Patrick Demarchelier
The emotion in this shoot speaks to me. I saw no use for a veil on a woman outside of mourning purposes but this shoot makes it look so sexy that I would prefer to see the right woman wearing one on a fair day. The red satin dress shot is a reminder of why red is the color of passion. D&G never looked so good.

It Shows in Your Style
Everything in it's Time
In life you may want a dog but instead you get a parrot.
After some time you get rid of the parrot and you decide you still want a dog but somehow you end up with a hamster.
Time passes and you no longer have the hamster and you think to yourself, this is my time to get a dog but unfortunately you are bestowed with a cat.
One night the cat goes out and you never see the cat again and at that point you decide that you are completely done with pets.
It is at this moment in your life that you receive a puppy.
What is the moral of the story?
You may not always be able to get what you want when you want it. Everything happens for a reason, so rather than waste your time questioning why your in a situation, learn from the situation and take that knowledge with you, you never know when you are going to need it. Everything in it's time.

On The Road Again
Can you think of a better way to start your day? I could think of a million better ways to start a day off unfortunately we were at Ellington's place and he didn't want to feed us so we were subjected to finding whatever we could to eat. I was just about to gather some grass when I stumbled upon this "whole grain" cereal in the pantry.
So with some form of food in my system and everyone assembled we set out for Philadelphia for the Award Tour & Abakus Summer Daze event. Hence the epic picture above; it's a movement. We arrived shortly after this picture was taken and the rest is history, enjoy the pics below until the video's start getting leaked.

Prime Mind
Who is Quentin B?
Q is a character in the famed James Bond series stretching from 1963 to 2002. The letter Q represents a job title more than a name, it actually stands for QuarterMaster. In the films Q is the head of the research and development of technology for the British Secret Service. Basically he supplies Bond with all of the cool gadgets that he needs to get out of the situations that he always seems to get himself into.
Who is Q?
You decide.
