Murakami?

Well its a well known fact that Marc Jacobs is the creative director for Louis Vuitton however what isn't so well known is that just like "Santa" Jacobs had a little helper in the process of revamping LV. The colorful LV monogram on a canvas was a brilliant design and one of my personal favorites from LV. The design actually came from a Japanese artist by the name of Takashi Murakami. It was right around the same time as 9/11 when Jacobs met Murakami and fell in love with his work. The heads at LVMH decided to go with it and the rest is big revenue history. The Takashi Murakami exhibit in the
Brooklyn Museum opened on 4/3/08 and will be running until sometime in July I believe so you have time to go and check it out. In the mean time you can also check out the 3 part video to the exhibit shot by yours truely (that means its terrible; lol)
F.Y.I. Murakami is also responsible for the album artwork on Kanye West's latest album "Graduation" and the unreleased video for "Good Morning" by Kanye West which was featured on L&F back in Feb.
